Graduating Senior Photos

Student Activities

The Utah Statesman is offering to take photos for seniors who are graduating in May. Each student will receive an hour of our photographer's time for $80. Locations are required to be on campus, but you are welcome to change outfits or locations as many times as you would like within that hour. Students will also receive a minimum of 20 edited, quality photos.

Little Naturalist

Little Naturalist is the perfect program for 3 to 5 year olds who are curious about animals, their habitats, the environment, and exploring nature. Join us twice a month, October through May, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to read a specially selected nature-themed book, explore the natural world, and complete a craft. Some favorites include snowshoeing on the Preserve, interacting with live reptiles and amphibians, upcycling old materials into holiday decorations, and much more!

Nourishing Nordics: Sustainable Foodways of Scandinavia


Nourishing Nordics will explore sustainable foods of Scandinavia to kick-off Earth Week 2019, hosted by USU's Blue Goes Green Sustainability Office. Attendees will sample free sustainable foods and beverages, with local, organic, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. There will be a variety of sustainable living vendors to educate about recycling, organic farming, fair-trade, composting, and edible plants. Several Scandinavian and pioneer heritage groups will also be there with family history opportunities to trace your Viking roots. Salt Lake Scandinavian Music and Dance will perform.

EcoHunt Registration & Indicator Bag Pick-Up

Student Activities

EcoHunt is a sustainability and outdoor recreation themed scavenger hunt. Teams of 2-6 students complete EcoHunt challenges to compete for prizes. The top three teams win a prize basket, with prizes including ski passes, swag from Caffe Ibis and Sunrise Cyclery, grocery gift cards, outdoor recreation items, and more. 50 participants from the top teams also receive a 2019 Earth Day t-shirt! Students can register their EcoHunt team at this event, or complete the registration in advance on the USU Earth Day website.

Nourishing Nordice: A Celebration of Sustainable Foodways in Scandinavia


This event, which takes place during Earth Week, will include live performances by Salt Lake Scandinavian Music and Dance, food tasting of local, organic, vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as information on sustainable living and heritage.

Impact Art Exhibit Reception

Faith Distress Group

Student Activities

This weekly drop-in group is an opportunity for students to get together in a safe environment to learn from and support each other. Each week we will discuss pertinent issues related to faith that cause stress (having faith doubts or internal conflict with elements of your faith, clarifying your spiritual identity, stresses associated with faith transitions, finding a spiritual place of belonging, talking to those of different faiths, etc). Co-facilitated by Dr Monique Frazier, a psychologist from CAPS and Dr Bonnie Glass-Coffin, Prof of Anthropology and Director, USU Interfaith Leadership Certificate Program.

Faith Distress Support Group


This group is an opportunity for students to get together in a safe environment, learn from, and support each other. Each week, a discussion will be held of pertinent issues related to faith that create stress (e.g. having doubts or internal conflict finding spirituality, faith transitions, finding a place of belonging, talking to those of different faiths, etc.). Topics are motivated by participants each week.
The group is co-facilitated by Monique Frazier, a psychologist from USU Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Bonnie Glass-Coffin, Anthropology professor and Director of the Interfaith Leadership Certificate Program.

Free Training on Opioid Overdose Prevention


A free overdose prevention training, created by students in a Project Management/'Projects for Good' class and Utah Naloxone, begins at 7 p.m. Learn how to identify and "reverse" an opioid overdose with Naloxone. Everyone will receive free Narcon kits.

Guitar Ensembles


Celebrate Tax Day with the USU guitar ensembles on April 15. The guitar ensembles have been a part of the USU music department fabric for almost 40 years and are known for delivering a night of eclectic music. The guitar naturally transcends genre and the SUU guitar ensembles aim to showcase the versatility of the instrument. Everything from jazz to rock, classical to folk music can be heard performed by both the electric and acoustic guitar ensembles.
