Alumni Band: Small Satellite Conference

Arts/Entertainment

The USU Summer Alumni Band consists of over 300 alumni of the band program at USU who continue to perform seriously following graduation, many as professional musicians or music teachers. In addition, a few talented students are invited to play, as are USU music department faculty members. Each concert features 45-60 of these Aggie musicians, all of whom donate their services and travel. The personnel changes for each concert depending on musical needs and summer travel schedules of band members.

Beyond Slime: Strategies to Get Kids Engaged in STEM Activities

Dave Francis, USU Extension professor, 4-H science and natural resources, is our featured speaker. Dave will discuss discovering easy activities for kids, getting involved in a design challenge, and finding out about local 4-H resources in the areas of robotics, sewing, maker and more.

USU faculty and staff participating in the USU Be Well Rewards program are eligible to receive points for attending by signing in at the event. No RSVP is required, but space is limited to 100 people. The event will also be broadcast on Facebook Live.

USU Football Family Fun Day

Utah State’s 13th annual Aggie Football Family Fun Day, presented by Maceys, will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. The event is free and open to the public. Games and activities will get started on the south concourse at 1 p.m., while Utah State’s football team will hold a situational scrimmage at 2 p.m. There will be free food and giveaways courtesy of athletic sponsors. Locker 42 will also be selling Aggie merchandise on the south concourse. Fans can also pick up their Junior Aggie Kids Club packages or sign up to be a member at the table on the south concourse. Junior Aggie Kids Club packages start at $20 and are open to kids entering the 8th grade and younger. Following the scrimmage, fans can get autographs from their favorite Aggies and participate in on-field activities. A new edition to this year’s event is a special post-scrimmage concert featuring local country and rock band, Mile Marker 6. The south ticket office at Maverik Stadium will open at 1 p.m. for season-ticket purchases, as well as mini-plans and single-game tickets.
