Ogden Botanical Gardens' 25th Anniversary Celebration and 5K

As part of Ogden Botanical Gardens’ 25th Anniversary Celebration, we will have:

Alumni Band Concert

An Aggie tradition since 1963, the Summer Alumni Band concerts feature USU alumni musicians who donate their time and travel to play music together. Families are welcome! Remember to bring folding chairs or a picnic blanket to these outdoor concerts, and enjoy the live concert while watching the sun set behind Old Main Hill.

Grand County High School Concurrent Enrollment Registration Open

Date/Deadline

Concurrent enrollment is a program that allows high school students to take university courses while in high school. The credits earned from a concurrent enrollment course count both as credits towards high school graduation and as university credits. The grade a student receives from a concurrent enrollment course appears on the student's high school transcript and on the student's permanent college transcript. Aggies in Davis County Movie Night

Special Event

We have another opportunity for you and your family to come enjoy an evening with your fellow Aggies. Please join me and my family on Friday, August 9, for movie night at the Kenley Amphitheater in Layton.

6:30 p.m.: Pre-movie activities for kids. Books for children under 12 (while supplies last) generously provided by Gibbs Smith Publishing.
7:00 p.m.: Aggie Ice Cream (while supplies last).
7:30 p.m.: Movie begins at the Kenley Amphitheater, played on a bright outdoor LED screen so we don’t have to wait for dusk. Matilda is rated PG and is 1 hr 42 minutes.

You can bring outside food and beverages (no alcohol) into the amphitheater. Chairs are available or bring your own blankets.

Beeswax Wrap Workshop

Trying to ditch the plastic in your life? Join us and learn how to make beautiful and environmentally friendly reusable beeswax wraps. These wraps can be used to keep food fresh as an alternative to plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Make a set of wraps to use at home and leave with the skills to make more!

Supplies will be provided. However, if you have a 100% cotton fabric that you would like to make wraps out of, feel free to bring it along.

The third of four birding tours on the Swaner Preserve in 2019! Legendary Utah birder, Kenny Frisch, will guide us on an early morning excursion to view and identify local and migratory feathered friends on the Preserve. Please be sure to wear hiking shoes or boots that can get wet, and be prepared for uneven soggy ground.

We will provide binoculars for each attendee, or bring your own if you have a pair you prefer.

A Light on the Hill for CHaSS newcomers and oldtimers

Museum + Music - Transnational Landscapes: Classical Indian Music of the Hindustani Traditions:

Welcoming master sitarist Pt. Deobrat Mishra and tabla virtuoso Prashant Mishra, this concert will explore the traditions of Hindustani music as they live in our modern world. At the same time contemporary visual works from LatinX artists and the early twentieth century artist Stanton MacDonald-Wright (whose work draws on Japanese artistic traditions) will invite audiences to consider a cultural landscape created irrespective of national borders, one which is truly transnational.
