USU GEOLOGY: Earth Day celebration


Come and start your Earth Day celebrations a couple of days early with USU on the Quad. USU Geology will be there with activities and information about the world in which we live.
The department will cap off their day of events at 5:00pm in GEOL 105 with the unveiling of "Percy" the Utahraptor, a 1/3 scale sculpture of the newly-designated state dinosaur, commissioned by the department and created by USU undergraduate artist Justin Tolman, the newest addition to the Geology Museum.

Come to the Geology Building for the unveiling of Justin Tolman's 1/3 scale sculpture of a Utahraptor, "Percy"! Remarks will be made by Joel Pederson, head of the Department of Geology and Laura Gelfand, head of the Department of Art and Design. Justin also will field questions about the project.

Science Unwrapped - "Visualizations of Molecular Processes"

Panel Discussion/Presentation

Inquiring minds of all ages are invited to Science Unwrapped at USU, the public outreach program of Utah State University's College of Science. Admission is FREE! As part of our Spring 2018 "Science of Art" Series (celebrating USU's "Year of the Arts"), we welcome University of Utah biochemist Janet Iwasa, who will explain her work in creating visualizations of molecular processes. Dr. Iwasa speaks Friday, April 20, at 7 pm in the Emert Auditorium (ESLC 130) of the Eccles Science Learning Center on the USU campus.
