Group meditation

Meeting

Utah State University's mediation club meets Thursdays on the third floor of the Aggie Recreation Center (ARC) for group mediation from 1:30-2:30PM*. All are welcome.

The club does not meet on USU holidays (e.g. November 22). On September 27th, the meditation club will meet on the quad near the Geology building to conduct a walking meditation.

Aggie Heroes

Special Event

This event, hosted by Aggies Think. Care. Act and USUSA, is aimed at hearing stories from Aggies of diverse backgrounds and identities to promote inclusion across our campus. Some stories may be inspirational; some may be deeply personal. This event is held to foster appreciation for our differences and similarities as Aggies. Doors open at 5:30, refreshments will be served. Our speakers this year are Kennedy Murdock, Koralene Tapoof, Sami Ahmed, Claire Harrison and Benson Ambrose.

Kevin Aspaas - Wool Workshop

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Navajo Weaving/Navajo Loom Demonstration

Kevin Aspaas is an award-winning entrepreneur Diné weaver and fiber artist from Shiprock, New Mexico. Aspaas utilizes the traditional Diné sheep to loom weaving process. He is best known for producing the old style Navajo wedge weaving technique, alongside producing other Navajo traditional and contemporary textiles, He currently also serves as the Vice-president of the Diné led non-profit organization, Diné Be'liná, which focuses on promoting and preserving the Navajo lifeways through weaving, fiber arts, shepherding, food and community outreach.

"How to Talk Openly About Suicide and Building Personal Resiliency" Workshop

Participants will practice the skill of asking sensitive questions and responding with confidence to those experiencing emotional distress. Ideas for fostering hope will be shared and resource materials will be provided.
