About This Degree

The Climate Science Degree program trains the next generation of global leaders in climate and climate change sciences. Climate change is the most important environmental and hazard issue of our time. Using principles of mathematics and physics, climate science seeks to understand the nature of our climate system and develop solutions to reduce the effects of climate change.

What You Will Learn

Students learn the natural laws that determine the climate through the study of meteorology, climatology, environmental physics, and oceanography. The Climate Science Degree helps students gain a complete understanding of climate including how atmosphere, water, land surface, and ecosystems affect each other. Students also investigate the behavior of weather and climate and the obstacles of climate prediction.

Climate scientists evaluate scientific data and research about the climate to assist in decision-making in a variety of industries including aviation, green energy, insurance, land development, and many others.
