Community Art Day

Arts/Entertainment

Inspired by Adam Bateman’s sculpture Flock—included in NEHMA’s exhibition Barns, Cows, Tractors, Horses, Hay and Farmers—join us at Community Art Day and create your own assemblage sculpture! We will have many different kinds of objects for you to use when creating your sculpture, but feel free to bring along you own objects as well if you like.

**Note** we will be using hot glue to assemble our sculptures, so parents should be prepared to assist their children with glue guns.

NEHMA is limiting total attendance to 25 visitors at a time and requiring reservations. To make a reservation in advance, please see our Visit page. Please wear face coverings—NEHMA can provide some in adult or child sizes if you need! Also, the activity will be set up in a way to facilitate proper social distancing. Thank you for your cooperation!

USU Opera presents Orpheus in the Underworld

Arts/Entertainment

Offenbach’s beloved operetta “Orpheus in the Underworld” is a raucous and irreverent retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. Rather than gallantly pursuing his wife into Hades and using his musical prowess to bring her back, our ‘hero’ is a self-absorbed has-been who reluctantly attempts to rescue his wife only to protect his own reputation. Full of delightful characters and danceable tunes (including the well-known Can Can!), USU Opera’s broadcast from the amphitheater on Old Main Hill is sure to entertain.

Sung in English with English dialogue (Jeremy Sams translation)

Content Advisory: sexual humor/innuendo
