Mindful Movement | Yin Yoga - Gentle yoga that promotes mindfulness while you move

Recreation

Yin yoga is a slow-paced, passive type of yoga that incorporates long holds and stretching designed for deep contemplation and mind-body awareness. Yin yoga promotes sensory awakening that melts away tension and stress, and is known to release repressed or stored emotions. A tried and true technique to experience fascia and connective tissue release, Yin yoga is also an excellent practice for beginners because it offers plenty of time to uncover the unique benefits of individual poses without worrying about tricky transitions.

The Grief of Overdose Death

Workshop/Training

Nearly 90,000 people in the United States died from opioids in 2020. Utah is one of 22 states with an overdose rate higher than the national average. There were 571 overdose deaths in Utah in 2019. We estimate that there are 25 affected survivors for each death by opioid overdose, some 1,150 family members and friends.

Join Dr. Katherine Supiano for an informative, virtual workshop that explains what the grief of overdose death is, why it matters, and how you can provide support to overdose death survivors as they move toward healing. This is a two-part workshop, offering training for community members and professionals during the morning session and clinical education for providers in the afternoon. CEUs are available for professionals who complete training requirements.

Schedule:
Community Members and Professionals, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm; Clinical Education for Providers, 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm (6 hours of clinical education).
