Lecture/Readings

This lecture will review the history of archaeological investigations at sites connected to the Latter-day Saint past and examine the ways historical archaeology has contributed to our understanding of that past. Examples from various sites, where historical archaeologists have utilized a wide range of methods, illustrate the potential of historical archaeology to confirm, complete, correct, and sometimes confuse our understanding of the Latter-day Saint past.

Open For Climate Justice: Lightning Talks

Panel Discussion/Presentation

Climate Justice is an explicit acknowledgement that the climate crisis has far-reaching effects, and the impacts are not being borne equally or fairly, between rich and poor, older and younger generations, and people of all genders. Open access can create pathways to more equitable knowledge sharing and serve as a means to address the inequities that shape the impacts of climate change and our response to them. Hear from USU researchers on how making their work open promotes climate justice and hear from local organizations about the challenges they face in accessing current research to help tackle the climate crisis.
