Entrepreneur Leadership Series: Arshay Cooper
Panel Discussion/Presentation
This week’s speaker is Arshay Cooper, who grew up on the West Side of Chicago, raised by a single mom in a neighborhood surrounded by gangs and drugs. In 1997, he joined (and later became captain of) the first All- Black high school rowing team at Manley High School, an experience that changed Arshay’s life.
Over the years, Arshay has coached and helped start several rowing programs for low-income youth across the country, and anywhere a puddle of water exists, so that other young people can experience the profound change that can happen on the water.
Arshay is mostly known for diversifying the sport of rowing and his activism work in Chicago. He is the author of his memoir, “A Most Beautiful Thing”, which has also been made into a major motion picture.
A Fireside Chat with Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson on Women and Leadership
Panel Discussion/Presentation
The Utah Women & Leadership Project invites you to join us for our second Fall Women’s Leadership Forum.
Deidre M. Henderson, Utah’s ninth Lieutenant Governor, is well-recognized in Utah for her political leadership for eight years in the Utah State Senate. She gained a reputation as a strong conservative, a champion for government transparency, and a vocal advocate for women and families. In this engaging fireside chat, she will respond to questions about her own leadership development journey and provide her insights and perspectives on why, where, and how women today are needed to influence, impact, and lead in all settings. Come, listen, and learn from this important conversation! This event is open to all girls/women and those who influence them (this includes men too).

A Time to Die: Adoption of Physician-Assisted Dying in Utah

Physician-assisted dying is legal in at least ten U.S. states and the District of Columbia under legislation known as Death with Dignity Laws. Should Utah also offer the option? Join a online panel discussion led by USU bioethicist Andy Anderson; Pat Sadoski, senior care consultant and retired hospice nurse; and family physician and hospice medical director Matthew Welter. The discussion, broadcast online via AggieCast, is free and open to all. The event is hosted by Utah State University's College of Science, with media sponsor Utah Public Radio.
